Even though it sounds like science fiction IT’S NOT! A couple of days ago Russian scientists successfully created a technology that can alter the protons of an atom and change the atom itself making one element from another.
Well, it seems Russian science has finally caught up with old-school farming! It has been known for decades that chickens transmute potassium to calcium. Actually, transmutation of elements is quite common in all biological organisms--and I noticed that they are using bacteria to do it in the lab.
Nature transmutes inorganic elements, as well, as any basic study of geology will reveal--copper, silver and gold are almost always found together in a vein. Look at the rotational displacements:
3-3-(7) Copper
4-3-(7) Silver
4-4-(7) Gold
Just a single, magnetic unit apart. The capture of an M 1/2-1/2-0 particle can do that, the muon neutrino (or "massless neutron" as Larson calls it. It is just a much slower process, as the capture is not very common. (See Nehru's paper on the
Relative Abundance of the Elements).
This is an area that I want to investigate more, because transmutation events are quite common every time you exceed the unit speed boundary, such as in cavitation, Brown's Gas or the creation of EVs (Electrum Validum). Even boat propellors are affected by cavitation transmution and sublimation of the metal in the prop, so transmutation events are far more frequent than we've been led to believe.
Every dogma has its day...
