Makes sense to me. Resonance is literally when the imaginary part of the impedance goes to 0, this is how you solve for the resonant frequency. Also resistance has no imaginary component in DC circuits, implying it is a 1-D quantity. Wereas AC circuits imply a magnetic field, or 2d rotational motion...
