Fifth force of Nature?

<t>From Astronomy now<br/> <br/> Recent findings indicating the possible discovery of a previously unknown subatomic particle may be evidence of a fifth fundamental force of nature, according to a paper published in the journal Physical Review Letters by theoretical physicists at the University of C...

and I like that

At least both groups have real jobs and not just collecting a check.

Never heard them say anything but that everything is moving through dark matter. Call it what you will it amounts to the same. No one has seen aether either nor will they.

time is a label? So the fundamental parts of RS are labels? ratio of labels? is that the best we can do?

Definitions please of time and space

How do you talk about a theory without defining what you mean by its basic tenets?

What is time?

What is space?

Then define motion.

And finally dimensions of space and time.

MOTION AND SPACE AND TIME

You need a good solid foundation to build anything worthwhile onto that you will wish to discus with others. If you assume I know what these terms mean we will likely reach a point where we are not on the same page. You can't just say they are and not define what you mean by saying that.

please include

I would like to see you start off with two good definitions of what motion and time is [at least from an RS perspective] and then describe their movement or change.

WOW!

<t>First - thank you!<br/> <br/> Start with the beginning of course! Explain motion and time WITHOUT using the word dimension OR clearly state what is meant by RS dimensions and how it is described externally by an observer from some frame of reference vs. without a frame of reference if that is eve...

dimensions poor choice of description

I think a fresh start in explaining RS leaving out the word dimension because of the way we use it day to day would be nice. I have no idea what would be a better word but there has to be one that makes it clearer.

the aliens

<t>Perhaps aliens have the answer? I love these kinds of articles that tell you "we found something we think but we don't what it is if it is really something". Then they write up papers on what it might be if it is - even give it names and colors and flavors. And we seem to learn nothing of any rea...
